A burger doesn’t have to be made from beef to be delicious. In fact, chicken is lean and low-fat protein that is an excellent alternative to beef. When purchasing chicken for burgers, do not buy pre-ground chicken; instead, choose boneless, skinless chicken breasts and grind them yourself for better texture. Not only do these burgers taste great but because they are made with chicken they contain the following health benefits:
- Contains cholesterol-reducing vitamins
- Supports bones and teeth with phosphorus
- High protein content
1 and 1/2 lbs. Ground chicken
1 gala Apple, shredded
1 medium Onion, shredded
1-2 T. Sweet curry powder (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
Cilantro, to taste
1-2 T. Olive oil or coconut oil
Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
Shape into 6 equal size patties.
Heat olive or coconut oil in a medium skillet over high heat. Add three of the burgers.
Cook 4 minutes per side or until cooked through. Repeat with remaining 3 burgers.
